Coded Oven Faults

Cooktop Faults Without a Code
On gas Jenn-Air ranges, a burner that clicks without lighting is almost always fouled or damp rather than broken. Clean and dry the caps and ports, reseat the caps squarely, and confirm crisp ignition; if it still will not light, the spark igniter or module needs service. On induction models, a zone that will not heat usually means the cookware is not magnetic or is too small, and an error that shuts a zone off points to a cooling or sensor fault the technician tests.
When to Reset and When to Book
A single transient oven code is worth one power reset at the breaker. Everything that returns, and any sensor, lock or heating fault, is a real repair. Gas ignition problems respond to cleaning first; induction detection issues respond to correct cookware first. When those basics are ruled out, the remaining fault is specific and serviceable.
